CITY OF TEMPE Meeting Date: 01/08/2026 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item: 7B9 ACTION: Approve one-year contract renewals with OverDrive, Inc. and Midwest Tape, LLC. for the purchase of eBooks and eAudiobook content for the Tempe Public Library. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of the contracts will not exceed $510,000. Sufficient funds have been appropriated in the General Fund, Cost Center 2440 (Library) for anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval of the City’s annual budget. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the contract renewals. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (T24-032-01, 02) City Council approved the contract awards on January 18, 2024, for an initial two-year period with three one-year renewal options. This renewal request is the first of three one-year renewal options. These contracts provide for the purchase and delivery of eBook and eAudiobook content for the Tempe Library on an as-needed basis. This supports the Library’s ongoing collection development efforts by ensuring timely access to digital materials that meet the community's needs and interests. Contractor Performance The performance of the Contractors was evaluated by City staff as shown in the following table: OverDrive, Inc. Midwest Tape, LLC.
