CITY OF TEMPE Meeting Date: 1/8/2026 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item: 7B17 ACTION: Approve a one-year contract renewal with Beam Global for the purchase and maintenance of transportable solar electric vehicle charging stations. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of the one-year contract will not exceed $100,000. Sufficient funds have been appropriated in the General Governmental Capital Improvement Program, Project 6709899 (Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure/Stations) for anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval of the City’s annual budget. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the contract renewal. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (T23-088-01) On January 26, 2023, City Council approved the award of a one-year contract with five, one-year renewal options to Beam Global for the purchase and maintenance of transportable solar electric vehicle charging stations. These EV charging stations complement the City’s EV fixed in-place charging station roadmap and deliver emergency charging preparedness for field operations. If approved, this will be the third of five one-year renewal options.
