A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE TEMPE 
POLICE DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDS TO 
ASSIST IN THE INVESTIGATION, PROSECUTION, AND 
DETERRENCE OF THE POSSESSION, PRODUCTION, 
AND 
DISTRIBUTION 
OF 
UNLAWFUL 
IMAGES 
DEPICTING MINORS AND THE UTILIZATION OF THE 
INTERNET TO SEEK CHILDREN AS SEXUAL VICTIMS, 
IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT 
BETWEEN 
THE 
PHOENIX 
POLICE 
DEPARTMENT 
AND 
THE 
TEMPE

DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved an Intergovernmental Agreement 
between the Phoenix Police Department and the Tempe Police Department to participate as an 
affiliate agency in the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on August 18, 2022 
(Contract No. C2022-184); and
WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Agreement remains in effect and authorizes 
participation in the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and eligibility for 
related grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the Tempe Police Department has been awarded grant funds for Fiscal Year 
2025–26 to support training, equipment, investigations, and related activities consistent with the 
purposes of the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the grant funds will supplement existing budget 
appropriations and further the public safety interests of the City of Tempe.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, HEREBY:
1. The Tempe Police Department is authorized to accept grant funds for Fiscal Year 
2025–26 to assist in the investigation, prosecution, and deterrence of internet crimes against 
children, in alignment with the Intergovernmental Agreement approved by City Council on 
August 18, 2022 (Contract No. C2022-184).

2. The Chief of Police or designee(s) are authorized to execute and submit all documents 
necessary to accept and administer the grant funds, including reimbursement requests and related 
reporting requirements, consistent with the existing Intergovernmental Agreement.
