RESOLUTION NO. R2026.15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, APPROVING THE PURCHSAE OF 
REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 950 EAST BASELINE 
ROAD, TEMPE, ARIZONA, AND AUTHORIZING THE 
MAYOR TO EXECUTE ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS 
TO FINALIZE THE PURCHASE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tempe has a need for additional affordable housing and a new 
fire station located near south Tempe to replace Fire Station No. 3; and 
WHEREAS, City staff has located real property at 950 East Baseline Road formerly 
occupied by the Big Lots retail store (the “Big Lots parcel”) that could potentially be used for the 
affordable housing and a new fire station; and 
WHEREAS, the City has been in negotiations for the potential purchase of the Big Lots 
parcel with its current owner, CC Fund 1 Big Lots, LLC, and staff believes it has reached a 
purchase amount for the property; and 
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the purchase of the Big Lots parcel is in the 
best interests of the City. 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, hereby:
1.
Authorizes the Mayor to execute a final purchase and sale agreement or any other 
necessary documents with CC Fund 1 Big Lots LLC for the purchase of real property located at 
950 East Baseline Road, Tempe, Arizona. 
2.
Authorizes the City Manager (or designee, including the Director of Community 
Health and Human Services) to take such further actions and execute such additional documents, 
including amendments, as are necessary to implement the intent of this Resolution and finalize the 
purchase of the real property.
