ACTION:  Approve one-year contract renewals with Aquatic Environmental Systems and Landmark 
Aquatic, LLC. for the purchase of commercial pool and aquatics equipment and repair services.
FISCAL IMPACT:  The total cost of the contracts will not exceed $250,000. Sufficient funds have been 
appropriated in the General Fund and will be charged to various Aquatic cost centers including pool, 
splash play areas, and fountains for the anticipated expenditure in the current fiscal year and next fiscal 
year contingent upon City Council approval of the City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the contract renewals.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  (T24-088-01 and 02) City Council approved the contract awards 
on February 1, 2024, for an initial one-year period with four, one-year renewal options. This renewal 
request is the second of four renewal options. 
These contracts provide for inspections, maintenance, repairs and testing of pool and aquatics 
equipment for the City to include the purchase of necessary equipment, parts, and supplies on as-
needed basis to ensure the proper functioning, safety and compliance of all City aquatic facilities.

Renewal Cost
Aquatic Environmental Systems renewed its contract with no price increase. Landmark Aquatic, LLC 
requested a price increase, which City staff negotiated from 26% to 20%.  This is the first increase 
request since the inception of the contract two years ago.  This increase applies only to labor pricing, 
not to materials.  Even with this increase, Landmark Aquatic is still lower in its hourly rate as compared 
to Aquatic Environmental Systems.  Staff considers the negotiated increase to be fair and consistent 
with market research and industry standards.
