BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Tempe Transportation Plan 2050 is an update of the 2015 Tempe Transportation Master Plan. 
The goal for this update is to provide a multi-modal transportation guide for the City that equitably 
addresses Tempe’s current and anticipated transportation needs. This plan will build upon the goals and 
priorities established in the Tempe Tomorrow: General Plan 2050, ADA Improvement Plan, MAG 
Regional Transportation Plan and other similar documents and highlight opportunities within the City’s 
transportation network. The update is currently in its second project phase, Needs and Gaps Analysis. 
This phase aims to identify where the system doesn’t meet today’s or tomorrow’s needs, ground future 
decisions in data and community input, and support equity, safety, and multimodal outcomes.
The project team hosted public meetings on February 25, both in person and virtually, to share collected 
data and receive feedback from the community.
The survey is open from February 25 to March 18. The website will host materials gathered throughout 
the planning process and share project updates.
Additional outreach is anticipated to be held in Summer 2026.
