R20-04-03 - DEMA COVID19 Funding

RESOLUTION R20-04-03 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL 
MIRAGE, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL FOR GRANT 
FUNDING TO THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY EMERGENCY 
AND MILITARY AFFAIRS (DEMA) FOR COVID-19 (EM-3442-AZ), AND TO 
EXECUTE SUBSEQUENT AWARD AGREEMENTS  
 
WHEREAS, the Arizona Emergency Management Division is an authorized entitlement 
manager for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security-Federal Emergency Management 
Agency (FEMA) funds issued the State of Arizona; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage qualifies to apply for disaster recovery funding as a 
municipality in the State of Arizona; and  
 
WHEREAS, the purpose of COVID-19 funding is to provide relief to organizations 
experiencing unexpected costs due to coronavirus;  
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of El 
Mirage, in Maricopa County, Arizona, that: 
 
Section 1.  
 
The City is hereby authorized to submit an application for State of Arizona 
 
 
DEMA funds for COVID-19. 
Section 2. 
 
The application to be submitted for the FY 2020-2021 EM3442-AZ funds  
 
 
 
includes disaster recovery.   
Section 3. 
J. Crystal Dyches, City Manager, is selected to be the City of El Mirage 
applicant agent.
