O20-10-07 Abandoned Property

ORDINANCE O20-10-07 
 
AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE, 
ARIZONA, REPLACING TITLE IX: GENERAL REGULATIONS, CHAPTER 93: 
ABANDONED PROPERTY, IN ITS ENTIRETY. 
 
WHEREAS, Council wishes to update City codes from time to time to more accurately reflect 
current conditions and realistic needs of the City, AND 
 
WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage would like to replace Title IX: General Regulations, Chapter 
93: Abandoned Property in its entirety in order to clarify procedures for the disposition of abandoned 
and other unclaimed property which has come into the possession of the City, AND 
 
WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage would like to establish procedures for citizens to determine 
the ownership and ensure proper release of abandoned and other unclaimed property which has come 
into the possession of the City. 
 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE 
CITY OF EL MIRAGE, ARIZONA, THAT: 
 
Section 1.   The certain document titled Resolution R20-10-20 was made public record and is 
hereby referred to and adopted as fully set out in this Ordinance.   
 
Section 2.   If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance in 
any part of this addition adopted here by reference is for any reason held invalid or 
unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision 
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof.   
 
 
Section 3.   The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish this adopting ordinance in full.
