RESOLUTION R21-03-03 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL 
MIRAGE, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO APPLY FOR AND, 
IF AWARDED, ENTER INTO GRANT AGREEMENTS FOR HIGHWAY 
SAFETY, 
GRANT 
PROGRAM 
YEAR 
2022-2023 
WITH 
THE 
GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY (GOHS), STATE OF 
ARIZONA.  
 
  WHEREAS, the Governor's Office of Highway Safety is seeking proposals from 
state and local agencies for projects relating to all aspects of highway safety; and 
 
 
WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage has been invited to submit projects to be considered 
for GOHS funding in the form of reimbursable grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety 
Administration; 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of El 
Mirage, in Maricopa County, Arizona: 
 
Section 1. 
Hereby acknowledge and authorize the filing of grant applications for funding  
 
 
assistance under Arizona's FY 2022-2023, Highway Safety Plan, and  
 
Section 2. 
Hereby acknowledge and authorize Paul Marzocca, Police Chief, and Michael  
 
 
Long, Fire Chief, respectively, as the appointed agents for the City of EI Mirage  
 
 
to conduct all negotiations and to execute and submit all documents and any other 
 
 
necessary or desirable instruments in connection with such grants.
