A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL 
MIRAGE, 
APPROVING 
A SUBCONTRACT 
WITH 
THE 
UNITED 
STATES AND THE CENTRAL ARIZONA WATER CONSERVATION 
DISTRICT, TO PROVIDE AN ALLOCATION OF CENTRAL ARIZON A 
PROJECT WATER TO THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE 
 
WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage has the responsibility to provide water to meet 
the needs of the City's residents; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Secretary of the Interior published his final reallocation decision 
for Central Arizona Project Non-Indian Agricultural (CAP/NIA) water; and 
 
WHEREAS, that decision reallocated previously uncontracted CAP/NIA priority 
water to various water providers; and 
 
WHEREAS, in the final reallocation decision, 1318 acre-feet of CAP priority water 
was allocated to the City of El Mirage and the City of El Mirage has the need to contract for 
this allocation of CAP priority water; and 
 
WHEREAS, to obtain this CAP priority water, the City of El Mirage must enter 
into a subcontract with the United States, and the Central Arizona Water Conservation 
District. 
 
 
    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of El Mirage, in Maricopa 
County, Arizona, hereby approves this subcontract and authorizes the execution of this 
subcontract by its Mayor on behalf of the City of El Mirage this 8th day of July, 2021.
