Strongly against BNSF Railway building a large railway project
in Wittman. The area has expanded way too quick. Traffic
needs to get under control first from Grand to Happy Valley all
roads they are all crowded already, and no one pays attention
to the rules of the roads (stop signs, speed limits, semis going
to residential street - including car carriers -.
I had an encounter with an individual along El Granda and
Jomax roads the other day. Someone in a white truck went
clear through and stop sign there doing 40-50 mph and all I did
was place my hands in the air and state there's clearly a stop
sign there. Next thing I know this individual is approaching me
driving backwards at a high rate of speed and stops right next
to me and starts yelling at me that he has lived here for over 15
yrs. and has no intention of ever stopping at that intersection.
This may be the person who has tore a up all the streets in
Rancho Cabrillo subdivision. Every cross street has burn out
marks. Sad to say called the sheriff to report this and was
forwarded to a deputy who stated he doesn't have time to deal
with this. Tell the County to pay him overtime and he will do his
best to get this under control.

Anyways this would cause more traffic and more headaches for
all those in the surrounding areas !!

I am a resident in Wittmann AZ and this rail hub would be a
disaster for our town. The US 60 is already jam packed full of
traffic with deteriorating roads adding that much construction
will make getting into the city of Surprise nearly impossible. Our
water source derives mainly from private wells, adding this hub
would cause a strain on local water sources, and possible
contamination to the ground water. Additionally, the noise and
vibrations from this hub would make living in Wittmann
unbearable. On top of noise/air pollution, strain on the well
water and traffic being an issue, emergency services are
already strained in the city of Surprise, adding this hub will
cause wait times for fire/EMS to increase dramatically. The
people of Wittmann have moved out here to get away from the
city, but the city is following us. Please do not allow this BNSF
rail hub to ruin the way of life for so many in this town. I am
opposed to the reasoning.

In your message earlier this month, the number that stuck out
to me was 22,000 more vehicles per day. Data from 2023
shows 30.5K to 31.5K cars travel US 60 (Grand) in Surprise
today. The number is probably higher with all the new
commerce and residences..Using logical mathatics, if only 1/2
of the new traffic uses Grand, that is an icrease on Grand of
about 33%. Where does the other 1/2 go? Check out the trafffic
levels on Bell Road. Check out how many cars use R H
Johnson as a shortcut to get from Grand to Bell.This runs right
through Sun City West. R H Johnson is the main artery of
SCW.
I have just mentioned the volume issue, I am not smart enough
to determine the increase in pollution.
I drive from SCW to Dallas and back at least twice a year.
While on I-10 and I-20 I enjoy watching the trains loaded with
goods. I imagine how they came from Asia, loaded up in LA,
and make their way to the store shelves. What a great
infrastucture we have.
I know the railroads need maintenance and other functions, just
not close enough that I am impacted by its presence.
I vote no for any propositions that support BNSF

The proposal to build a intermodal oﬀof Grand Avenue and the 303 is a disaster waiƟng to happen. The traﬃc
will be horrible, and it will cause cars to use The Grand as a wok around. We will have to gate our community.
