SUBJECT: PURCHASE ORDER REQUEST

The purpose of this memorandum is to request approval to issue a purchase order for the items
listed in the attached quote from ProForce Law Enforcement Inc. in the amount of $58,350.39
(including tax). The items listed in this quote are:

e Thirty (30) Colt AR-15 rifles and related equipment / accessories required to make the
rifle suitable for issue.

The funds for this purchase will be debited from the special projects fund that was approved this
fiscal year (FY21/22) in the amount of $55,500.00.

Note: Due to price increases related to COVID, the original quoted price has increased over the
original budgeted amount. I am recommending that additional funds ($2,850.39) be identified to
fund this purchase order as listed in the current quote. The thirty rifles are needed in order for the
department to issue each patrol officer and detective a department rifle.
