RE: Goldfield Ranch Fire District Petition for Reorganization
Dear Mr. VandenBerg,
Upon further review of A.R.S. 48-816, the review conducted by the Maricopa County Elections Department has been
deemed sufficient to refer the Goldfield Ranch Fire District Petition for Reorganization to the Maricopa County Board of
Supervisors.
Per A.R.S. 48-816(B), the minimum required signatures required is twenty five percent of eligible electors in the district.
As of the Voter Registration Statistics on January 2, 2025, a total of 243 voters were registered in the district. Therefore,
there is a minimum of 61 signatures required for the Petition for Reorganization.
On October 8, 2025, the Goldfield Ranch Fire District submitted 14 petition pages containing 101 signatures to the
Maricopa County Elections Department. The petitions will now be submitted to the Maricopa County Board of
Supervisors to call an election to reorganize the Goldfield Ranch Fire District from a three-member board to a five-
member board.
Sincerely,
Christine Dyster
