ORDER
ORDERING AND CALLING AN ELECTION
FOR THE REORGANIZATION OF THE 
GOLDFIELD RANCH FIRE DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 48-816 provides a process for Fire Districts with three board members to reorganize 
to a five member board, and;
WHEREAS, on October 8, 2025, petitions were presented requesting reorganization of the Goldfield Ranch 
Fire District from a three-member board of directors to a five-member board of directors in accordance with 
A.R.S. § 48-816. And
WHEREAS, the Maricopa County Elections Department reviewed the petitions and determined that 
petitions submitted contained the signatures of more than twenty five percent (25%) of the qualified electors 
residing within the district; and
WHEREAS, based upon the receipt of the petitions, the Board of Supervisors are required to order the call 
of an election to decide whether to reorganize the fire district board of directors pursuant to A.R.S. § 48-
816, and;
WHEREAS, the said election will be held on May 19, 2026, pursuant to A.R.S. § 16-204(B).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED as follows:
THAT an election is called to decide whether to reorganize the Goldfield Ranch Fire District for May 19, 
2025; and
THAT the Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County shall give notice of the election by posting copies of 
the order in three public places within the district not less than twenty days before the date of the election, 
and;
THAT if a newspaper is published within Maricopa County having a general circulation within the district, 
the order shall be published in the newspaper not less than once a week during each of the three calendar 
weeks preceding the calendar week of the election, pursuant to A.R.S. § 48-806(A) and A.R.S. § 48-816(A), 
and;
THAT the Board of Supervisors  authorizes and directs staff to take such actions as are necessary to cause 
the May 19, 2025, election to be properly noticed and held on this date.
