This application proposes an outdoor storage lot that temporarily stores and acts as a transfer point for portable storage container pods which are delivered to customers across the state. The site is located south of the southeast corner for 121st Avenue and Peoria Avenue in El Mirage, AZ. It is inside the Luke AFB 1988 JLUS 65 Ldn, “high noise or accident potential zone” as defined by A.R.S. § 28‐8461 and is inside the “territory in the vicinity of a military airport” also defined by A.R.S. § 28‐8461. As described in the application, this request should not have a negative impact on Luke AFB Flight Operations. However, Luke AFB reserves the right to review/comment on final plans submitted to El Mirage. Since the site will be located inside the “territory in the vicinity of a military airport,” it will be subjected to approximately 165 over flights per day, as low as 1,500 feet above the ground. We recommend you review the sound attenuation requirements found in A.R.S. § 28‐8482. In addition, a strong notification program on the part of the applicant is essential to inform the tenant about Luke AFB operations.
