A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL 
MIRAGE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AMENDING THE CITY OF EL 
MIRAGE 
ZONING 
CODE, 
CHAPTER 
154, 
SECTION 
§ 
154.036 
(B) 
MEMBERSHIP, AND (C) TERM OF OFFICE, TO ALLOW THE COUNCIL TO 
APPOINT ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING 
COMMISSION WHEN NECESSARY AND CHANGE THE TERM OF OFFICE 
FOR PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSIONERS FROM TWO YEARS TO 
FOUR YEARS. 
 
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission Review Board recruits and interviews 
Planning and Zoning Commission members every year on a two-year term rotation basis for 
Commissioners; and, 
 
 
WHEREAS, providing up to two alternate non-voting members to the Planning and Zoning 
Commission will allow a full complement of votes for the Commission when appointed members are 
absent; and, 
 
 
WHERAS, amending the term of office for Commissioners from two years to four year will 
provide more in-depth knowledge and continuity of the planning and zoning process for the 
Commissioners; 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of El Mirage, Arizona, 
as follows: 
 
Section 1. 
That the City Of El Mirage Zoning Code, Chapter 154, Section  § 154.026 (B) 
MEMBERSHIP, AND (C) TERM OF OFFICE is hereby amended and made a 
part of this Resolution as incorporated and attached as Exhibit A.
