Title VII, Chapter 72: “Parking”, Section 02 Blocking traffic: is amended as follows:
§ 72.02 BLOCKING TRAFFIC.
No person shall park a motor vehicle, or other vehicle, within an alley or entrance to
a private driveway except for the loading or unloading of materials, and not then unless
the loading or unloading can be accomplished without blocking the alley to the free
movement of vehicular traffic.
Title VII, Chapter 72: “Parking”, Section 05 Parking vehicles on sidewalks: is
completely replaced as follows:
§ 72.05 PARKING VEHICLES ON SIDEWALLS.
No person shall park any part of a vehicle or an attachment to the vehicle, including
a hitch or trailer, that blocks an area of a sidewalk and impedes continuous pedestrian
use of the sidewalk in a manner that is not consistent with the Americans with
disabilities act as defined in Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-1492. This restriction
does not apply if the vehicle is temporarily parked for the purposes of loading or
unloading the vehicle.
Title VII, Chapter 72: “Parking”, Section 09 Parking requirements: is amended as
follows:
§ 72.09 PARKING REQUIREMENTS.
Off-street parking spaces shall be provided according to the following provisions and
standards.
(A) Off-street parking facilities for residential uses shall be utilized solely for the
parking of licensed and operable vehicles owned by the occupants of the residence or
the parking of licensed and operable vehicles by guests of the occupants. Under no
circumstances shall required parking facilities for a residential structure be used for
storage of commercial vehicles, or equipment, or for the parking of vehicles belonging to
the employees, owners, tenants, or customers of business or manufacturing
establishments except as provided in § 72.11.
(B) Excess vehicle and visitor parking may be located in no more than 50% of the
front yard, or 75% on lots less than 7,000 square feet. The area allowed for excess
parking must be on contiguous space which shall include the permitted driveway, and
the percentage is determined by the number of feet of the parcel’s frontage.
Title VII, Chapter 72: “Parking”, Section 10 Trucks and trailers on residential
streets: is amended as follows:
§ 72.10 TRUCK AND TRAILERS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS.
(A) For the purpose of this section, the following definition shall apply unless the
context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
STREET. The entire width between the boundary lines of every way, including the
improved and unimproved shoulder or berm thereto.
(B) No person shall stand or park a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating in
excess of 20,000 pounds, or a semi-tractor, semi-trailer, trailer, recreational vehicle, or
bus on a street in a residential area, or adjoining a residential area, except during the
process of loading or unloading the vehicle.
Title VII, Chapter 72: “Parking”, Section 11 Parking in residential areas;
driveways or private property: is amended as follows:
§ 72.11 PARKING IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS; DRIVEWAYS OR PRIVATE
PROPERTY.
No person shall stand or park a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating in excess
of 20,000 pounds, or a semi-tractor, semi-trailer, trailer, recreational vehicle, or bus on
any real property within a residential area within the city, except during the process of
loading or unloading the vehicle, or unless parked or placed in a rear yard or screened
area not visible from the public street or roadway.
Title VII, Chapter 72: “Parking”, Section 12 No overnight parking: new section
added as follows:
§ 72.12 NO OVERNIGHT PARKING.
The overnight parking of a semi-tractor, semi-trailer, trailer, or recreational vehicle in
any residential area of the City is prohibited, except for those areas where such activity
is normal related to licensed establishments and conforms to Chapter 154.
Title VII, Chapter 72: “Parking”, Section 98 Definitions: new section added as
follows:
§ 72.98 DEFINITIONS.
RESIDENTIAL AREA. Any area of the city which is primarily comprised of
residential structures.
Title VII, Chapter 74: “Outdoor storage of dismantled, abandoned, or inoperable
motor vehicles”, Section 03 Exemptions: is amended as follows:
§ 74.03 EXEPTIONS.
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to any person duly licensed to store
dismantled, partially dismantled, or inoperable motor vehicles or parts where such
activity is within the contemplated purpose under the terms and conditions of Chapter
154 of this code, as now or hereafter amended.

motor vehicles”, Section 04 Permits: has been completely removed:
§ 74.04 PERMITS.
