RESOLUTION R23-05-15 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE, El MIRAGE, ARIZONA AMENDING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING JULY 1, 2020 - JUNE 30, 2024, BETWEEN THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE AND THE EL MIRAGE FIRE FIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, CHAPTER OF NORTHWEST VALLEY FIRE FIGHTERS LOCAL 4361. WHEREAS the City of El Mirage (City) would like to amend the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of El Mirage and the El Mirage Fire Fighters Association (EMFFA); and WHEREAS in 2020 the City and EMFFA completed a 4-year MOU that was approved by the El Mirage City Council; and WHEREAS in 2022 the MOU (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2024) between the City and EMFFA was amended by Resolution R22-12-27 and amended Article 11: Overtime (paragraph 1) and Article 13: Paid and Unpaid Leave (paragraphs 8 and 10). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of El Mirage: Section 1: That the MOU July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2024, between the City and EMFFA, is amended as attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 2: The Side Letter of Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit B is approved and adopted. APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council this 16th day of May 2023. Alexis A. RECITALS WHEREAS the City would like to amend the MOU between the City and EMFFA; and ADDENDUM NOW, THEREFORE. the City and EMFFA agree that the 2020 MOU is amended as follows: APPENDIX A: Step pay plans for Firefighters, Engineers, and Captains, beginning the fiscal year 2023- 2024. To align Firefighter, Fire Engineer, and Fire Captain pay rates with the comparator market(s), EMFFA agrees that the City will be allowed to replace the current step plans, identified in Appendix A of the current MOU, with the following step plans for Firefighters, Fire Engineers, and Fire Captains beginning the fiscal year 2023-2024.
