Per Rick Braughton, who handles our Motorola radio account with Motorola Solutions, has arranged this Trade-in to be for 3 vehicle radios. The Police Department does have a small surplus of outdated, nonoperational vehicle radios that Motorola Solutions are able to take and use to refurbish, use for parts or other remedies. In addition, this allows the equipment to stay with the manufacturer. They, in turn, provides the Department with a “Trade-in” value for the purchase of new equipment. In participating with Motorola in this regard, it saves the City dollars on the new equipment purchase(s) and allows the Department to dispose of outdated, nonoperational equipment that would be basically unsaleable, or with little value, via any other means. Finance will require your approval of Motorola Solutions Quote 2338828 in order to issue a Purchase Order for this purchase of the Police Department vehicle radios. Thank you.
