Nation 2024 revenue sharing program, in an amount of
approximately $140,000 for the remodel of a room,
creation of two classrooms to be used for child care
and pre-school programs, and one storage room at the
Northwest Valley Family YMCA building; and
authorize the Finance Department to make the

RECOMMENDATION:
Consideration and action to request and accept, if awarded, funding from the Tohono O'odham Nation 2024
revenue sharing program, in an amount of approximately $140,000 for the remodel of a room, creation of two
classrooms to be used for child care and pre-school programs, and one storage room at the Northwest Valley
Family YMCA building; and authorize the Finance Department to make the necessary budget transfers. 
PROPOSED MOTION:
I move to approve an application submittal and acceptance, if awarded, of the Tohono O'odham 2024 revenue
sharing program, and authorize the Finance Department to make the necessary budget adjustments as presented. 
BACKGROUND:
The Northwest Valley Family YMCA opened in 2014 in partnership with the City of El Mirage, offering various
programs, including childcare, before and after-school care, and summer and holiday camps. The Northwest Valley
Family YMCA also provides El Mirage residents with exclusive membership pricing and program discounts. Funds
from this grant request of $140,000 to the Tohono O'odham Nation 12% gaming distribution would be used to
remodel a room, creating multiple rooms for increased capacity for child care, preschool programming and storage
space.
