RESOLUTION NO. R24-11-25
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE,
MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AMENDING THE EL MIRAGE CITY CODE
BY AMENDING TITLE IX, CHAPTER 91: ANIMAL CODE, PROVIDING FOR
RESTRICTIONS ON MAINTAINING FOWL WITHIN THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to update City codes from time to time to more
accurately reflect current conditions and realistic needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage would like to amend Section §91.01 of the City Code
to define the word Fowl; and
WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage would like to amend Section §91.05 of the City Code
in order to clarify the number of fowl that shall be kept in a one-half acre or less residential
property; and
WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statutes §9-802 provides a procedure whereby a
municipality may enact the provisions of a code or public record by reference, without setting forth
such provisions, provided that the adopting ordinance is published in full;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of El
Mirage, Arizona that the City of El Mirage City Code be amended as follows:
Section 1.  That the document attached hereto as Exhibit “A,” amending Section §91.01 of the
City Code to define the word Fowl, and Section §91.05 of the City Code to be revised
to clarify the number of fowl that shall be kept in a one-half acre or less residential
property and under the discretion of City Council, is hereby declared to be a public
record.
Section 2.  That the document attached hereto as Exhibit “A,” shall amend Sections §91.01 and
§ 91.05 of the City Code in its entirety and is ordered to remain on file with the City
Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Common Council of El Mirage, Arizona,
