Re: SP24-09-01; Thunderbird Project (APN: 501-27-007A)

Dear Mr. Macias

Thank you for the opportunity to provide comments on the preliminary site plan
application for the Thunderbird Project. The proposed project involves a new commercial
building that will be 35 ft in height. The site is located at N Palm St and W Thunderbird Rd in
El Mirage, AZ. The site is inside the Luke AFB 1988 JLUS 65 Ldn, “high noise or accident
potential zone” as identified by A.R.S. § 28-8461 and is within the “territory in the vicinity of a
military airport” also defined by A.R.S. § 28-8461.

The project, as described, will not have a negative impact on Luke AFB flight operations.
Since the site will be located within the “territory in the vicinity of a military airport,” it will be
subjected to approximately 170 over flights per day. We also recommend a strong notification
program on the part of the applicant to inform any potential occupants about Luke AFB
operations.

If there are any questions, please contact me at (623) 856-6175.

          Sincerely
