Page 2 of 2 operations were not delayed. Additionally, we focused on reducing overdue permit renewal actions to manage workload more effectively. As evidence of these efforts, the permitting team processed 590 Non-Title V permit actions when compared to 360 the year prior, a 64% increase in output. These efforts were supported by: x Partnering with qualified contractors to review air quality permit applications and issue permits, x Implementing process improvements such as more efficient review procedures, x Utilizing inspector staff to assist with permit processing through voluntary overtime, x Hiring two new engineering staff members, and x Notifying customers awaiting permit renewals that their current permits remain valid until they receive the renewed version—regardless of the printed expiration date. In addition, since 2020, all air quality applications, notifications, payments, and other transactions are received and processed exclusively through the IMPACT online portals, which has significantly enhanced customer access to permitting information and has led to permitting efficiencies. MCAQD will continue to improve and deliver quality service to our customers. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 602-506-6701. Sincerely, Philip A.
