D R A F T MINUTES COMMISSION ON DIVERSE CULTURES 5850 W. GLENDALE AVE. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301 JANUARY 14, 2026 6:30 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER - Meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Chair, Tanner Contreras-Russell 2. ROLL CALL Present: Chrioni Turner, Commissioner Syliva Acosta, Commissioner Tanner Contreras-Russell, Chair Absent: Richard Henrick, Vice Chair Also Present: LeJeune Boone, HR Business Partner Attendees: Tabitha Perry , ADA & Accessibility Program Officer Jim Brown, HR & Risk Management Director 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS - NONE If citizens wish to speak on a matter concerning the Commission on Diverse Cultures that is not on the printed agenda, please complete a Citizen Comments Card and provide it to the designated staff person prior to the beginning of the meeting. Once your name is called by the Chairperson, please proceed to the podium and state your name and address for the record. Please limit your comments to a period of three minutes or less. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES DECEMBER 10, 2025 5. NEW BUSINESS a. Discuss details of the community event scheduled for March 2026. b. Discuss final recommendations for Name Change to be submitted to the City Council for consideration. The City Council approved the Commission to be renamed to the Commission and Community and Culture. 6. STAFF REPORTS - ADA Compliance Offer will provide an update. a. This report allows the Staff to update the Commission. The Commission is prohibited from discussing or acting on any of the items presented by the Staff since they are not itemized on the Commission on Diverse Cultures agenda. 7. COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS The commission discussed the City's Municipal Equality Score and may consider recommending an update to current policy language to earn a score of 100 or more. 8. NEXT MEETING *The next regular meeting of the Commission on Diverse Cultures will be held on February 11, 2026, at 6: 00 p.m., at the Glendale Adult Center, 5970 W. Brown St., Room 104, Glendale, AZ, 85302. 9. ADJOURNMENT Chair, Tanner Contreras-Russell, motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Chrioni Turner, made second motion to adjourn. All were in favor.
