RESOLUTION NO. R21-25 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING THE SUPPORT OF THE BUREAU OF 
RECLAMATION WATERSMART GRANTS: SMALL-SCALE 
WATER EFFICIENCY PROJECTS GRANT APPLICATION  FOR 
THE LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION TECHNOLOGY INCENTIVE 
PROJECT; 
AND 
IF 
FUNDED 
AUTHORIZING 
THE 
ACCEPTANCE AND EXPENDITURE OF THE GRANT AWARD 
IN THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $50,000.  
 
WHEREAS, the WaterSMART program through the Bureau of Reclamation works with states, 
tribes, and local entities to plan and implement actions to increase water supply through investments in 
modernizing existing infrastructure; and 
 
WHEREAS, the WaterSMART grant application will help fund the Water Services Department 
Landscape Irrigation Technology Incentive Project for municipal and non-residential customers in the 
amount of $50,000; and 
 
WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed and supports the grant application, agree to meet 
established deadlines for entering into a grant agreement, and are capable of meeting the  minimum fifty 
(50) percent match of the total project cost. 
 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
thereof that the City Council of the City of Glendale supports the Bureau of Reclamation WaterSMART 
Grant: Small-Scale Water Efficiency Project grant application for the Irrigation Technology Incentive 
Project to be entered into.  
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Council of the City of Glendale has matching funds available for the 
project, and if funded authorizes acceptance and expenditure of the grant award. 
 
SECTION 3.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk are authorized and 
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate the acceptance and 
expenditure of the grant award on behalf of the City of Glendale.
