RV Parking, Inoperable Vehicles, Vehicle Storage and Vehicles Under Repair Presented by Rick St. John, Deputy City Manager Code Revisions 2 We are seeking Council consensus on several general City Code revisions and additions related to the parking and storage of all types of vehicles on residential properties. Code Revisions 3 Reminder: The general City Code is enforced as written and does not allow for variances, relief, or “grandfathered” rights RV Parking and Storage 4 • Permitted when; –Owned by the homeowner or renter –In a garage or on an improved surface within a side yard or screened rear yard (Rural Residential exempted from the screening requirement) –Allow one properly parked in the front of a residence • Maintained in good working order –Shall not exceed; • 40 feet in length • 8.5 feet in width • 12 feet in height • Unless parked in a garage RV Parking and Storage 5 •Permitted when; –Maintain a minimum of 3 feet of clearance on at least one side yard access –Temporary for loading/unloading or basic repair (up to 72 hours) –Shall not overhang a sidewalk, street or alleyway –Shall not be lived in –Shall not be used for the storage of items not considered part of the RV RV Parking and Storage 6 •Multiple RV/Trailer RV Parking and Storage 7 Legally parked in the sideyard.
