RESOLUTION NO. R21-70 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, DIRECTING 
AND 
ENTERING 
INTO 
AN 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT BETWEEN MARICOPA COUNTY HUMAN 
SERVICES 
DEPARTMENT 
FOR 
WORKFORCE 
DEVELOPMENT 
SERVICES 
AT 
THE 
GLENDALE 
COMMUNITY CENTER. 
 
WHEREAS, Maricopa County’s workforce development program was created to support 
workforce development activities and training efforts that enable local employers to attract and retain 
top talent, in addition to providing adult and youth job seekers with Workforce Innovation and 
Opportunity Act (WIOA) program services; and 
 
WHEREAS, Maricopa County will assign a County Workforce Development Coordinator to 
be located at the Glendale Community Center at 5401 West Ocotillo Road; and  
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale will compensate Maricopa County in an amount not-to-
exceed $51,449 from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
thereof that the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Glendale and the Maricopa County 
Human Services Department for Workforce Development Services be entered into, which agreement is 
now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Manager and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute 
and deliver such agreement on behalf of the City of Glendale.
