A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE AND EXPENDITURE OF THE
FY2020 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM AWARD
FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY,
FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY, IN THE
APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $1,069,407.27 FUNDED UNDER
THE
ASSISTANCE
TO
FIREFIGHTERS’ GRANTS FOR
PURCHASE OF THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS AND
IMPLEMENTATION
OF
A COMPREHENSIVE CANCER
SCREENING PROGRAM ON BEHALF OF THE GLENDALE
FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale requested grant funding from the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency for the FY2020 Assistance to
Firefighters Grant; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management
Agency has awarded the City $1,069,407.27 and the City agrees to a matching expenditure of
$106,940.73.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens
thereof to accept and enter into the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency
Management Agency for the FY2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant for the purchase of thermal
imaging cameras and implementation of a comprehensive cancer screening program on behalf of the
Glendale Fire Department.
SECTION 2. That the City of Glendale accept and expend the $1,069,407.27 grant award
and provide a local match in the amount of $106,940.73.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and
directed to execute, deliver, and record any documents necessary to effectuate the purposes of this
resolution.
