• The cities of Glendale and Mesa introduced a League Resolution 
requesting that HB 2623 FIREWORKS; USE; OVERNIGHT HOURS; 
PROHIBITION be reintroduced. 
• The cities of Glendale and Mesa introduced this legislation as part of 
the League of Arizona Cities and Towns legislative vetting process and 
the League voted to include this in the League’s legislative agenda, 
formally known as the Municipal Policy Statement, in August 2021.
• The legislation would provide counties and municipalities the authority 
to prohibit the use of permissible consumer fireworks between the 
hours of 11PM and 8AM.
• On July 5 and January 1, the use of permissible consumer fireworks 
would be prohibited between the hours of 1AM and 8AM.
