AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, EXTENDING 
AND INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY 
OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
STATE 
OF 
ARIZONA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 9, 
SECTION 9-471, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES BY 
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO THE 
EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE TO 
BE KNOW AS “ANNEXATION AREA NO. 235”; PROVIDING 
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY 
CLERK TO RECORD A CERTIFIED COPY OF THE 
ORDINANCE. 
 
WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 9-471(N) provides a method for the annexation of county right-of-
way or roadway with no taxable real property included in the annexation area; and 
 
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Glendale to annex certain territory consisting 
only of Maricopa County right-of-way; and 
 
WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed by the City of Glendale is contiguous 
to the corporate limits of the City of Glendale. 
 
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
 
SECTION 1. That the corporate limits of the City of Glendale are extended and 
increased, pursuant to the provisions of Title 9, Chapter 4, Section 9-471, Arizona Revised 
Statutes, by annexing certain territory contiguous to the existing city limits of the City of 
Glendale to be known as “Annexation Area No. 235,” and legally described in Exhibit A 
attached to this ordinance. 
 
 
SECTION 2. That a copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of the territory 
annexed into the City of Glendale, attached as Exhibit B, shall be filed with the Maricopa County 
Board of Supervisors with a request that the Board of Supervisors set a hearing date as set forth 
in A.R.S. §9-471(N). 
 
 
SECTION 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions 
of this ordinance or any part of the code adopted by reference in this ordinance, are repealed. 
 
 
SECTION 4. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this 
ordinance or any part of the code adopted in this ordinance by reference, is for any reason held to 
be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such 
decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.

SECTION 5. That the provisions of this ordinance become effective thirty (30) days after 
passage of this ordinance by the Glendale City Council. 
  
 
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk is accordingly instructed and authorized to forward a 
certified copy of this ordinance for recording to the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office.
