RESOLUTION NO. R22-15
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
ADJUSTING
SOLID
WASTE
COMMERCIAL RATES FOR FRONT LOAD AND ROLL-OFF SERVICES;
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, rate adjustments are necessary to provide the City with adequate financial resources
necessary to maintain uninterrupted solid waste collection and management services and provide high-quality
customer service; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution R20-157, the last rate adjustment for front load and roll-off
services went into effect on January 1, 2021; and
WHEREAS, a recent rate study and the recommendation of the Citizens Utilities Advisory
Commission concur that an increase in the City’s commercial solid waste rates are warranted; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that a subsequent rate adjustment occurs on April 1, 2022, to comply
with State Law and give the City’s customers adequate notice and time to prepare for the rate changes.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 18-141 of the Glendale City Code, a schedule of services and
fees is established by the resolution of the City Council for the City to provide solid waste collection and
management services to commercial customers. This Resolution adjusts the commercial solid waste fees for
front load and roll-off services as follows:
Front Load Bins:

Various rates are charged depending on the size of the bin and the number of
services per week. Monthly bin rates for refuse or recyclables are as follows:

rate.

*Current fees are $59.22 for 95-gallon containers and $220.38 for a 300-400 gallon container.
These fees are subject to change based on the contract price charged by the City's vendor. Fees
charged are at the cost recovery rate.

Plastic Container Service fees:
Collection service for the sole use of one 95-gallon plastic container is provided
twice per week for $33.26 per month, where practical, for minimum refuse-
generating businesses. Additional 95-gallon containers cost an additional monthly
fee of $8.70 each. Containers may not be purchased or shared.
•
Miscellaneous Service fees:
From time to time, a customer may request the City to provide miscellaneous
services associated with the refuse collection provided to the customer. This may
include work pertaining to the customer's enclosure or bin(s). Miscellaneous fees
are as follows:

SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 18-111, (c) of the Glendale City Code, a third
party commercial solid waste service provider must submit an application, with a cash permit
surety and pay a per vehicle license fee for each vehicle used to provide commercial services
within the City. This resolution adjusts the surety fee and the license fee as follows:

SECTION 3. That the adopted rates and fees set forth in Section 1 and Section 2 shall be
effective April 1, 2022.
