RESOLUTION NO. R22-31 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH LUKE 
AIR FORCE BASE FOR SOLID WASTE COLLECTION, 
CONTAINER MAINTENANCE, LANDFILL DISPOSAL AND 
RECYCLING SERVICES. 
 
WHEREAS, Luke Air Force Base is located within the City of Glendale's city limits; 
 
WHEREAS, Luke Air Force Base houses military personnel and their families in 
residential units; 
 
WHEREAS, those residential units and certain commercial activities of Luke Air Force 
Base generate solid waste that needs to be collected and properly disposed of; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale has agreed to provide solid waste collection, container 
maintenance, landfill disposal and recycling services to Luke Air Force Base. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and its citizens 
thereof to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement ("IGA") with Luke Air Force Base for 
solid waste collection, container maintenance, landfill disposal, and recycling services, which 
IGA is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 2. That the City Manager and the City Clerk be authorized and directed to 
execute and deliver said IGA on behalf of the City of Glendale.
