RESOLUTION NO. R22-83
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING THE ENTERING INTO OF A LAND USE
LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH SALT RIVER PROJECT
AGRICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT AND POWER DISTRICT,
FOR THE USE OF ZANJERO TRACT 211 LAND LOCATED
IN THE NW 1/4 OF THE NW 1/4 OF SECTION 14 TOWNSHIP
2N, RANGE 1E, GILA AND SALT RIVER BASE AND
MERIDIAN, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA.
WHEREAS, The City of Glendale (“Licensee” or “City”) requires a Land Use License
from Salt River Project Agricultural and Improvement District (“Licensor”) for the use of a
portion of Zanjero Tract 211 which includes the multi-use corridor of the Bethany Home Outfall
Channel and Flood Control structures at the west end of the channel; and
WHEREAS, Licensor is willing to consent to Licensee’s use of the Licensed Property in
a manner that does not in any way compromise the contractual obligation or authority of
Licensor to manage the Salt River Reclamation Project, which includes the Bethany Home
Outfall Channel; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the Land Use License would benefit the
citizens of Glendale and be in the public interest.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute and
accept a Land Use License from Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power
District. Said Land Use License is on file with the City Clerk.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of
Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona, this 23rd day of August, 2022.
