RESOLUTION NO. R22-71
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, ADJUSTING
SOLID WASTE FEES FOR COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS AND
MULTI-UNIT PROPERTIES PURSUANT TO GLENDALE CITY
CODE; AND SETTING FORTH EFFECTIVE DATES.
WHEREAS, rate adjustments are necessary to provide the City with adequate financial
resources necessary to maintain uninterrupted solid waste collection and management services, provide
high-quality customer service to Glendale residents, and to remain in compliance with federal, state,
and local regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Field Operations Department is continuously reviewing rates and
fees to ensure timely replacement of equipment and adequate staffing; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution R20-157, a rate adjustment for front load and roll-off
services went into effect on January 1, 2021.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to Glendale City Code, Chapter 18, Article IV, Section 18-141,
a schedule of solid waste services and fees shall be established by resolution by the City
Council.
SECTION 2. Commercial solid waste services and fees that apply to commercial
customers, including businesses and multi-family units greater than a duplex, mobile home
parks, and trailer parks for front load and roll-off services shall be adjusted as follows:
Front Load Bins:

Various rates are charged depending on the size of the bin and the
number of services per week. Monthly bin rates for refuse or recyclables
are as follows:

restaurants due to wet compacted garbage.
b. Add 25% to above applicable rates for bins located outside of City.
c. Front load compactor rates are three times the above
applicable rates for each appropriate bin size.

Note: Three hundred- to four hundred-gallon containers are charged at the two
cubic yard rate.

*Current fees are $53.35 for 95-gallon containers and $220.38 for a 300-400 gallon
container. These fees are subject to change based on the contract price charged by the
City's vendor. Fees charged are at the cost recovery rate.

Plastic Container Service fees:
Collection service for the sole use of one 95-gallon plastic container is
provided twice per week for $36.92 per month, where practical, for
minimum refuse-generating businesses. Additional 95-gallon containers
cost an additional monthly fee of $36.92 each. Containers may not be
purchased or shared.

Miscellaneous Service fees:
From time to time, a customer may request the City to provide miscellaneous services
associated with the refuse collection provided to the customer. This may include work
pertaining to the customer's enclosure or bin(s). Miscellaneous fees are as follows:

SECTION 3. That the adjusted rates and fees set forth in Section 2 shall be effective September
1, 2022.
