RESOLUTION NO. R22-74
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE
ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (IGA 22-
0008646-1) FOR THE INSTALLATION OF SIDEWALKS AND
ENHANCEMENT OF BICYCLE FACILITIES IN THE AREA
BOUNDED BY MARYLAND AVENUE, 43RD AVENUE,
BETHANY HOME ROAD AND 59TH AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has approved funds through the Federal Highway
Administration (“FHWA”) agency to Glendale to improve sidewalk connectivity and bicycle
facilities and in the area bounded by Maryland Avenue, 43rd Avenue, Bethany Home Road and
59th Avenue (“Project”); and
WHEREAS, the “FHWA” will be responsible for 94.3% of the “Project” and the City
will be responsible for 5.7% of the “Project.”
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the
citizens thereof to enter into the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of
Transportation for the installation of sidewalks and enhancement of bicycle facilities in the area
bounded by Maryland Avenue, 43rd Avenue, Bethany Home Road and 59th Avenue (IGA 22-
0008646-1), which agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Glendale.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and City Clerk are authorized and
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on
behalf of the City of Glendale.
