It is an active agriculture farm that grows animal feed and makes money off of it. The house has been rented out and then vacant on and off during that time. Currently, the house on the farm is vacant probably because the owners are anticipating the sale. The property is NOT a vacant, useless property. If your committee members had bothered to take the trip to see the property, they would know that. Convenient verbal misrepresentations were offered by the developer all throughout this process. It was obvious to anyone who would listen and knew the situation. The male VP of Dominion referred to Maryland Avenue as a "Boulevard" which it is not. Maryland Avenue is a dead-end feeder street with a K-12 school on it that has had an increase in traffic recently due to poorly planned closure of Desert Garden. It is already overburdened. There are times my neighbors and | cannot leave our homes due to the amount of traffic for the school alone. Here is what Merriam Webster believes is are synonomous with the word boulevard: arterial, artery, carriageway, drag, drive, expressway, freeway, high road, highway, pass, pike, road, roadway, route, row, thoroughfare, thruway, trace, turnpike, way Our community needs more services for the recent density you have already approved. One grocery store in over 5 square miles is not helping. We would like a "nature trail" to walk through. One drug store in 5 square miles as well. Not enough police to answer non-emergency calls. How is a gated community going to add to the value of the lives currently lived in our community? That is the question. Respectfully, H. These men didn't even take the time to come out to our community and see why the reply was so limited. They saw a shiny object (Dominion) and like a flock of crows, pounced on it. They made excuses in the guise of answers to very important questions and they treated people at 55 or over like they were awaiting the grave. Discrimination and lack of education, and failure to do a modicom of investigative "homework" on their part made the meeting a total farce since the decision was premade. Cases in point: 1. Hanging a sign on a door that says "tutoring" does not make a room a place of learning any more than hanging the same sign on my bathroom, yet, one of your appointed committee used this as an incredibly feat of compromise on the part of the developer, a true "Hazah" moment. 2. Asking for a reconsideration of the traffic study and why certain calculations were used is not asking any of the panel to be traffic engineers. To pass that off as a silly answer was condescending and immediately bought by your representatives. The lesser trip calculation (which can be easily assessed on the internet if anyone bothered to check) needs an explanation. One that | fear won't be forthcoming. 3. To assume that people 55 and older are mainly sedentary and do nothing is age discrimination. How old are all of you on the Council? Do you know people your age who have "children" adults living with them and their kids? Do you know people of your age who have had to take on raising their grandkids because their offspring cannot? Do any of you own more than 1 vehicle? To assume this is not a fact of life is ignorant. The density of this project will add such burden to our community that we will never escape. 4. To treat the written response from GESD in regards to handling more students in this community as not-essential is also ignorant. | have spoken with them. There is a teacher shortage and | don't believe your committee member is aware that getting more students is NOT what is needed doesn't even qualify as a sub-stupid response. Challenger Middle school is overrun and cannot handle the students they currently have. They cannot find teachers!! Goodness, | cannot believe the ignorance of your choices for this Zoning Committee. 5. Finally, not being allowed to readdress the bogus answers given during the committee meeting was frustrating and equally demonstrative of the City's lack of concern about its residence. | have written to you over and over again, and not even a polite reply from an underling. Nothing. | also did not receive replies from Mr. Gehlert.
