A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE 
CITIES OF AVONDALE, BUCKEYE, CHANDLER, GILBERT, 
GLENDALE, GOODYEAR, MESA, PEORIA, PHOENIX, 
SCOTTSDALE, SURPRISE, TEMPE, AND THE COUNTY OF 
MARICOPA, FOR THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL 
JUSTICE 
ASSISTANCE 
GRANT 
PROGRAM 
REALLOCATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE 
AND EXPENDITURE OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2022 LOCAL 
SOLICITATION IN THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF 
$78,673, ON BEHALF OF THE GLENDALE POLICE 
DEPARTMENT. 
 
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Intergovernmental Agreement is to reallocate the funds 
available from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program through the 
City of Phoenix, who shall receive all the funds and distribute the funds to Avondale, Buckeye, 
Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Maricopa County, Mesa, Peoria, Scottsdale, Surprise, and 
Tempe; while retaining its own funding and collecting and transmitting to the appropriate Federal 
funding authorities all financial and program reports as required by the terms and conditions of the 
grant and applicable Federal regulations. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
that the Intergovernmental Agreement between Avondale, Buckeye, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, 
Goodyear, Maricopa County, Mesa, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Surprise, and Tempe for the 
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program reallocation be entered into, which 
agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and 
directed to execute any and all documents necessary to enter into the Intergovernmental Agreement 
on behalf of the City of Glendale. 
  
SECTION 3.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and 
directed to execute any and all documents necessary for the acceptance and expenditure of this 
grant reallocation on behalf of the City of Glendale.
