We are seeking Council consensus to 
amend the code to not allow parking on 
semi-circular driveways on R1 zoned 
residential properties.

Current City Code

The Zoning Ordinance states:
5.312 Parking.
C. Parking and driveways are permitted as follows:
4.  Circular driveways and similar circulation may be 
permitted within the front yard so long as:
a. No long term resident parking occupies such 
circular drive; and
b. The front yard contains no more than fifty (50) 
percent of the total square footage in 
parking/driveway or other circulation.

Current City Code

GCC 24-68 Parking on residential lots.
Subsections C and D -
4. All driveway, parking or maneuvering areas within the 
front yard shall be prohibited from being located in front of 
any living space of a dwelling, except to provide direct 
access to a permitted garage or carport or to allow for the 
placement of a semi-circular drive.
