RESOLUTION NO. R23-13
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO
AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT
FOR
WASTE
COLLECTION
AND
TRANSPORTATION MUTUAL AID, NUMBER C-19-0356,
WITH MULTIPLE CITIES AND TOWNS.
WHEREAS, the Cities of Mesa, Tempe, Phoenix, Gilbert, Avondale, Peoria, Queen Creek,
Surprise and Scottsdale have entered into Intergovernmental Agreement Number C-19-0356
Waste Collection and Transportation Mutual Aid; and
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale believes it to be beneficial to grant or receive assistance
from other jurisdictions in times of emergency needs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale wishes to enter into the Intergovernmental Agreement
Number C-19-0356 with multiple jurisdictions for mutual aid of waste collection and
transportation; and
WHEREAS, the parties to the IGA agree that adding the Salt River Pima - Maricopa
Community as an additional party benefits all participants.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens
thereof that the Intergovernmental Agreement with other governmental entities for mutual aid of
waste collection and transportation be amended to include Salt River Pima- Maricopa Indian
Community as a participating entity as provided in Amendment No. 1.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and
directed to execute and deliver said agreement on behalf of the City of Glendale, and to extend the
term in accordance with the provisions of the Intergovernmental Agreement.
SECTION 3. That Amendment No.1 to the IGA shall take effect 30 days after the
adoption of this resolution.
