RESOLUTION NO. R23-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
ADJUSTING LANDFILL RATE FEES PURSUANT TO
GLENDALE
CITY
CODE;
AND
SETTING
FORTH
EFFECTIVE DATES.
WHEREAS, rate adjustments are necessary to provide the City with adequate
financial resources to maintain uninterrupted landfill operations and management
services and to provide high quality customer service to Glendale residents and remain
in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Field Operations Department is continuously reviewing rates
and fees to ensure timely replacement of equipment and adequate staffing; and
WHEREAS, the last rate increase for landfill gate rate collection fees for waste
disposed at the landfill occurred on February 8, 2022; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Glendale City Code, Chapter 18, Article IV,
Section 18-141, a schedule of landfill collection services and fees shall be
established by resolution by the City Council.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as
follows:
SECTION 1. Landfill services and fees that apply to the materials deposited on
site shall be adjusted as follows:

• The Environmental Fee of $2.00 per ton will be added to the minimum
transaction fee and the gate rate. The fee will be applied as an increase to each
rate and will not be pro-rated for minimum transaction fees.
SECTION 2. That the adjusted rates and fees set forth in Section 1 shall be
effective April 1, 2023 for 2023 rates, and January 1st of each following year.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Council of the
City of Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona, this day of 14th day of March, 2023.
