RESOLUTION NO. R23-41
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF
AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF PEORIA TO PROVIDE
DETENTION AND WEEKEND COURT SERVICES FOR THE
CITY OF PEORIA POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council previously adopted Resolution No. R19-69, which
authorized and directed the entering into of an Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) with the
City of Peoria for detention and weekend court services for the Peoria Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the initial term of the IGA was two years, commencing July 1, 2019, and
ending June 30, 2021, and may be renewed upon its expiration for additional one-year terms; and
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale and the City of Peoria entered into two contract
extensions, renewing the term through June 30, 2022, and June 30, 2023, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale and the City of Peoria wish to renew the IGA for
another one-year term from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale and the City of Peoria wish to amend the scope of
work, amend the rate for detention services, and amend the rate for weekend court services.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the
citizens to enter into Amendment No. 1 with the IGA between the City of Glendale and the City
of Peoria for detention and weekend court services for the Peoria Police Department, which
agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and
directed to execute all documents necessary on behalf of the City of Glendale.
