RESOLUTION NO. R23-75      
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING THE ENTERING INTO OF A LAND USE 
LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH SALT RIVER PROJECT 
AGRICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT AND POWER DISTRICT, 
FOR THE USE OF THE NORTH BANK OF THE GRAND 
CANAL LYING WITHIN SECTIONS 9, 10, 14, 15 AND 16, 
TOWNSHIP 2 NORTH, RANGE 1 EAST, OF THE GILA AND 
SALT RIVER BASE AND MERIDIAN, MARICOPA COUNTY 
ARIZONA. 
  
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale (“Licensee” or “City”) requires a Land Use License 
from Salt River Project Agricultural and Improvement District (“Licensor”) for the care, 
operation, maintenance and management of the Salt River Reclamation Project; and 
 
WHEREAS, Licensor is willing to consent to Licensee’s use of the Licensed Property in 
a manner that does not in any way compromise the contractual obligation or authority of 
Licensor to manage the Reclamation Project; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the Land Use License would benefit the 
citizens of Glendale and be in the public interest.  
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute and 
accept a Land Use License from Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power 
District. Said Land Use License is on file with the City Clerk. 
 
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of
