A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AMENDMENT TWO TO THE NEW RIVER AND AGUA FRIA 
RIVER 
UNDERGROUND 
STORAGE 
PROJECT 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT 
AMONG 
SALT 
RIVER VALLEY WATER USERS’ ASSOCIATION, SALT 
RIVER PROJECT AGRICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT AND 
POWER DISTRICT AND THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS 
OF AVONDALE, CHANDLER, PEORIA, AND GLENDALE. 
 
 
WHEREAS, on July 27, 2004, the City entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with 
Salt River Valley Water Users’ Association, Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and 
Power District, and the Municipal Corporations of Avondale, Chandler, and Glendale; and 
 
WHEREAS, on May 27, 2008, the City entered into Amendment One to the New River 
and Agua Fria River Underground Storage Project (NAUSP) Agreement with Salt River Valley 
Water Users’ Association, Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, and 
the Municipal Corporations of Avondale, Chandler, Peoria, and Glendale; and 
 
WHEREAS, on June 30, 2023, the City of Avondale and the City of Chandler entered into 
a Conveyance Agreement and want to amend Exhibit C of the Intergovernmental Agreement to 
reflect the changes of the NAUSP Storage Entitlement. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
thereof for the City of Glendale to enter into Amendment Two to the NAUSP Intergovernmental 
Agreement with Salt River Valley Water Users’ Association, Salt River Project Agricultural 
Improvement and Power District, and the Municipal Corporations of Avondale, Chandler, Peoria, 
and Glendale, which agreement is now on file in the City Clerk’s Office of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk are authorized and 
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said 
Intergovernmental Agreement on behalf of the City of Glendale.   
 
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of 
Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona, this 24th day of October, 2023.
