Annexation and Deaanexation of Roadways in the Western Area ADOPTION City Council Voting Meeting – October 10, 2023 Background 2 •In conjunction with growth in the Western Area, the City has executed several IGA’s with Maricopa County. •Purpose of the IGA’s is to designate roadway ownership creating equity and continuity of operations for both the City and the County. Key Council Approved IGA’s 3 IGA C-64-18-084-M-00 (Resolution No. R18-01) County responsible for Alsup Avenue from Bethany Home Road to Claremont Street in exchange for City being responsible for 99th Avenue between Camelback Road and Bethany Home Road. IGA C-92-11-206-M-00 (Resolution No. 4474 New Series City agrees to ownership, operation and maintenance of Northern Parkway from Sarival Avenue to Dysart Road. IGA C-64-22-100-X-00 (Resolution No. R21-112) Master Agreement for exchange of roadways in the Western Area. Agreement incorporates previous IGA’s into one all encompassing agreement. Master Agreement Roadway Map 4 Letter of Agreement (LOA) 5 • Master Agreement includes a provision that allows for modifications to map in response to future development. • Example: County subdivision Pradera Estates located at 127th Avenue & Glendale Avenue.
