A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE
ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (IGA 22-
0008481-I) FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF
GENERAL PURPOSE LANES ON STATE ROUTE 101 LOOP
FROM 75TH AVENUE TO INTERSTATE 17 AND RELATED
WORK.
WHEREAS, the State will obtain federal funds for the design and construction costs
associated with the construction of general purpose lanes on State Route 101 Loop (SR101L) from
75th Avenue to Interstate 17 (I-17), the Project.
WHEREAS, as part of the Project and as a mitigation effort, on behalf of the City, the State
will administer the design and construction of a raised median and extend northerly the third left-
turn lane.
WHEREAS, ADOT will construct waterline improvements just west of 59th Avenue. The
design will be provided by the City and ADOT will administer the construction and invoice the
City for the costs.
WHEREAS, this IGA helps both, ADOT maintain and operate the highway system
efficiently and provides additional infrastructure improvements to the City.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens
thereof that the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA 22-0008481-I) with the Arizona Department
of Transportation for the design and construction of general purpose lanes on State Route 101
Loop and related work be entered into, which agreement is now on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Glendale.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and City Clerk are authorized and directed
to execute and deliver such agreement on behalf of the City of Glendale.
