RESOLUTION NO. R23-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY
OF PHOENIX FOR THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION, AND
MAINTENANCE OF A HAWK SIGNAL AT BUTLER ROAD
AND 43RD AVENUE IN THE CITY OF PHOENIX.
WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix will be constructing a HAWK (High-Intensity Activated
CrossWalK) signal on 43rd Avenue in the vicinity of the Butler Road intersection;
WHEREAS, the placement of the HAWK will help promote pedestrian safety in the area;
WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix will be the lead agency overseeing the construction of the
HAWK;
WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix will be maintaining and operating the HAWK; and
WHEREAS, some of the project components will be located with the jurisdiction boundary
of the City of Glendale.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens
thereof that the Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Phoenix for the installation,
operation, and maintenance of a HAWK pedestrian signal at 43rd Avenue and Butler Avenue, be
entered into, which agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on
behalf of the City of Glendale.
