RESOLUTION NO. R24-10 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY 
OF PHOENIX FOR THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION, AND 
MAINTENANCE OF STREETLIGHTING ON 43RD AVENUE 
IN THE CITY OF PHOENIX.  
 
WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix will be constructing streetlighting along 43rd Avenue 
between the Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue intersections. 
 
WHEREAS, 43rd Avenue, within the project limits is owned and operated by the City of 
Phoenix. 
 
WHEREAS, the Glendale Municipal Boundary is located behind the sidewalk on the west 
side of 43rd Avenue. 
 
WHEREAS, the placement of streetlighting will help enhance safety for all modes of 
transportation in the area. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix will be the lead agency overseeing the funding design and 
construction of the streetlighting. 
 
WHEREAS, some of the project components will be located with the Jurisdictional 
Boundary of the City of Glendale. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
thereof that an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Phoenix for the funding, installation, 
operation, and maintenance of a streetlighting on 43rd Avenue, be entered into, which agreement 
is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and 
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on 
behalf of the City of Glendale.
