RESOLUTION NO. R24-45 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FY2023 FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $89,949 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND RENEWALS RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocates funding for the Family Self Sufficiency Program to develop local strategies that coordinate public and private resources to help housing choice voucher program participants, public housing tenants, and tenants in the Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) program obtain employment that will enable participating households to achieve economic independence and reduce dependence on welfare assistance and rental subsidies; and, WHEREAS, the Glendale Housing Authority operates a Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) program serving participating households, but the coordinator position has been previously unfunded; and, WHEREAS, HUD has awarded the Glendale Housing Authority $88,949 to support one (1) FSS Coordinator Position to administer the program. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby accepts the FY2023 Family Self-Sufficiency Program Coordinator Salary allocation of $88,949 to fund one position. SECTION 2. That the Mayor or City Manager and the City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute and deliver all agreements and documents necessary to administer this program on behalf of the City of Glendale. SECTION 3. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute renewals or amendments for the purpose of accepting funding from HUD for the FSS Program Coordinator Salary which shall be included in the annual budget.
