ORDINANCE NO. O24-20
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AMENDING
THE GLENDALE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 25 (NUISANCES),
ARTICLE
II
(SPECIFIC
ACTS,
OMISSION
AND
CONDITIONS), BY ADDING SECTION 25-22 (REPEAT
OFFENDERS) AND SETTING FORTH AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That the Glendale City Code Chapter 25 (Nuisances), Article II (Specific
Acts, Omissions and Conditions), is amended by adding Section 25-22 (Repeat Offenders) and
shall read as follows:
CITY CODE CHAPTER 25
ARTICLE II – SPECIFIC ACTS, OMISSIONS AND CONDITIONS.
Sec. 25-22 Repeat Offenders
a."Repeat Offender" shall mean a responsible person who has a confirmed history of
violating the Glendale Municipal Code Titles 24 and/or 25 three (3) or more times
within a twelve (12) month period following the date of the issuance of the second
violation of the Glendale City Code.
b.For the purposes of this section, a violation of the City Code includes the issuance of a
compliance order by a code enforcement officer, and/or a notice of parking violation
and/or issuance of notice of violations letters, and/or civil citation, and/or the filing of
criminal charges, and/or the initiation of a contractual abatement against the responsible
person.
c.A violation of this section is a civil offense, separate from other code violations, and shall
be punished with minimum fine of no less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and no
greater than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for a first offense and a minimum fine of
no less than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) and no greater than one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00) for second or subsequent offenses within the twelve-month period.
