CITY OF GLENDALE
WHEREAS, planning professionals assist the public, elected and appointed officials in
planning for future land use, development, and redevelopment in harmony with community
values; and
WHEREAS, planning professionals facilitate community involvement in the decision-
making process; and
WHEREAS, planning professionals administer adopted regulations and guidelines in a
fair and impartial manner; and
WHEREAS, planning professionals manage the annexation, zoning, subdivision, and
design review process efficiently; and
WHEREAS, planning professionals resolve to the best of their ability the inevitable issues
and conflicts associated with changing land use and development; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest for the citizens, civic leaders, and children in the
City of Glendale to gain knowledge of and to maintain an ongoing interest and
understanding of the importance of historical preservation and thoughtful and visionary
planning of our respective communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the City of Glendale, Arizona, on
behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim August 11 - 17, 2024, as
Planning Services Week
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, I urge all citizens to join us in paying tribute to our
planning professionals and to recognize the substantial contributions they make to the
quality of life of Glendale today and into the future.
